The Government has the money, now it’s time to allocate it

As we begin 2026, the ongoing closure of Broadmead Road Bridge to motor vehicles is unacceptable. For far too long now, local residents and businesses have endured disruption to their daily lives.

Nearly seven months on from the Chancellor £1 billion Structures Fund announcement, the Government has yet to publish details on the application and eligibility criteria for this funding.

This Labour Government’s delay is only causing further damage and disruption to our community and wider transport network. Therefore, this January, I have written again to the Department for Transport to press for urgent release of funding details and to again put forward my bid for Broadmead Road Bridge to be included in the funding allocation. Read my full letter here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1C6TE6h3bn/?mibextid=wwXIfr

But I need your help to keep pressure on the government to allocate funding to Broadmead Road Bridge.

Sign my petition and share my open letter to demand that the Government delivers and rebuilds Broadmead Road Bridge: Re-Open Broadmead Road Bridge | Iain Duncan Smith
