This week, I met the Leader of Redbridge Council, Councillor Kam Rai and Head of Highways & Transportation, Dhiresh Bhatt to discuss the condition of Broadmead Road Bridge following the release of the Broadmead Road Bridge Update Report.
While I am disappointed that there is no clear indication of when the Bridge will reopen, I am pleased the Principal Inspection and Concrete Testing have been completed and the results published.
The delays in re-opening the bridge are unacceptable and during the meeting, I made it clear that the Council must address the issue of funding as soon as possible to ensure this vital transport link can be restored back to Chingford and Woodford Green.
I will continue to pressure both Redbridge Council and Transport for London (TfL) to ensure Broadmead Road Bridge is opened as soon as possible.
