Today, I was pleased to join the opening of the newly refurbished Chase Lane Park.
The refurbishment was made possible thanks to the £8.4 million Levelling Up Funding I secured for Chingford and Woodford Green under the previous Conservative Government. Of this, £1.6 million was specifically allocated to refurbishing Chase Lane Park. Thanks to this investment, the park now features a brand-new skate and scooter park, a multi-use games area, and refurbished play equipment for children of all ages.
Having secured this funding, I was determined to ensure it was spent locally, to invest directly in our community. While some final landscaping works will continue over the coming weeks, the park is now open for families to enjoy.
I'm delighted that this space will provide a much-needed third space in our area - a place where children can play, families can enjoy, and our community can come together.
