I am delighted to share that the South Chingford Community Library (SCCL) will be opening its new location at 88 Old Church Road, Chingford, E4 8BX, today.
After years of campaigning to save SCCL, the Board of Trustees and I have worked closely together to secure a new home for the library. I am pleased that the future of South Chingford Community Library has now been secured through its move to a nearby Council-owned site, allowing this much-loved community asset to continue serving residents and families for years to come.
I would like to thank everyone in the community for their continued support of the library, and especially the dedicated volunteers who have worked tirelessly to keep it running. Their commitment has ensured that SCCL remains a valuable community hub for Chingford, hosting a wide range of activities and services, including my own MP surgeries and events, employment programmes, community theatre productions, and knitting clubs.
I encourage everyone to join us for the opening on Friday and help celebrate this fantastic community asset and its exciting new chapter.
