I'm pleased to announce that after years of campaigning, the future of South Chingford Community Library (SCCL) has finally been secured.
The SCCL will be moving to 88 Old Church Road in early summer 2026.
For over a year, the SCCL Board of Trustees and I have worked closely together to secure a new location for the library. This move takes the library from its current privately owned premises at 265 Chingford Mount Road, E4 8LP, to a nearby Council-owned site, just a few minutes away on Old Church Road.
I want to thank everyone in the community for their continued support of the library and most especially the dedicated volunteers who have worked continuously to keep it running. Their commitment has ensured SCCL remains a valuable community hub for Chingford, hosting everything from my own MP surgeries and events, employment programmes, community plays and knitting clubs.
I look forward to seeing the library continue to thrive in its new location.
