Bring Back Banking in Woodford and Sign my Petition!
Following the closure of the Barclays branch on The Broadway in 2018, and most recently the South Woodford Barclays branch on George Lane in February 2025, Woodford is now left with no in-person banking provision at all.
In-person banking services are vital for our community. For older residents, vulnerable people, and small businesses, access to cash and face-to-face banking is essential, not only for financial inclusion, but so our high streets can thrive.
After the success of the North Chingford banking hub, which I helped secure following the closure of the last remaining high-street bank, your Conservative councillors and I, are now fighting to reinstate in-person banking services in Woodford with a new banking hub.
We’ve done it before in North Chingford and now it is time to do it again in Woodford.
I have therefore written to the Chief Executive of LINK making our case for a new banking hub in Woodford.
