I recently visited Chingford’s McDonald’s on Sewardstone Road and met their fantastic team working there.
McDonald’s has been operating in the UK for more than 50 years and today supports over 145,000 jobs across more than 1,500 restaurants. Around 90% of these are run by local franchisees, helping create opportunities in communities like Chingford.
The Chingford branch alone employs 116 people, with 73 of them under 25, showing the important role it plays in supporting young people in our area getting into work.
It was great to hear about the training and career development available, including the McDonald’s Apprenticeship Programme and their new mission focused on youth opportunity. Restaurants like this help young people gain their first job, build confidence, independence, and develop practical workplace and leadership skills.
