I was delighted to visit All Saints’ Church, Highams Park and see first-hand the progress being made to restore the hall back into the brilliant community space it used to be.

Following the discovery that the hall’s flooring and underlying structure were beyond repair, the future of this vital local hall was placed at risk. Having previously held MP surgeries and Older Persons’ Fairs there myself, I was deeply concerned at the prospect of the church hall being unable to continue serving the community.

However, in an outstanding demonstration of community spirit, Bowmer & Kirkland, the contractors currently redeveloping Highams Park School, generously offered to install a new concrete floor entirely free of charge as part of their community engagement work.

Their generosity is an excellent example of how businesses can make a meaningful contribution to the communities in which they work, helping to secure the future and sustainability of important local spaces. Thanks to Bowmer & Kirkland’s support, All Saints’ Church will continue to provide an invaluable hub for residents and community groups for years to come, such as Highams Park: The Hub Food Aid and Christians Against Poverty Debt Advice.

My sincere thanks to Mike Smith, Church Warden at All Saints Highams Park, and to everyone at Bowmer & Kirkland for their generosity, partnership, and commitment to our local community.
