Campaign to Re-Open Baddow Close Alleyway Delivered
Together, after months of campaigning against the Labour-run Redbridge Council, we have finally secured the re-opening of Baddow Close Alleyway.
Every child deserves to feel safe on the school run.
For far too long, families at Ray Lodge Primary School had faced serious safety concerns following the closure of the Baddow Close alleyway, which had provided a safe and important route for pupils travelling to and from school.
Its closure forced parents and children onto a narrow stretch of Snakes Lane East, a busy main road that has experienced increased traffic following the closure of Broadmead Road Bridge.
That is why your local Conservative councillors heard parents, teachers and the Ray Lodge Primary Headteacher's concerns. The message was clear: the current situation was unsafe and could not continue.
Together, we launched a petition signed by hundreds of local residents and campaigned for urgent action from Redbridge Council. I am pleased that our concerns have been heard.
The Baddow Close alleyway will reopen by the end of October, making the school run safe again for pupils and families at Ray Lodge Primary School.
I am delighted that this re-opening has been delivered and I want to thank everyone who supported the campaign and helped make their voices heard.
