The Central Line and Woodford Station have caused deep concern for local residents for far too long. Constant delays, disruption, anti-social behaviour, and the poor condition of the underpass have left many feeling unsafe and let down by those in charge.
As we head into the winter months, safety in the underpass becomes an even greater concern, especially during darker evenings and bad weather.
And now, with the closure of Broadmead Road Bridge, the pressure on local transport has only gotten worse. More delays. More disruption. Still no action.
Sadiq Khan isn’t listening, and he has no plan to fix it.
While Woodford Station and the Central Line continue to be neglected, the Mayor of London is pushing ahead with a new £700 million vanity project, a new Overground line on the opposite side of London to our constituency, connecting North and West London. If approved, it would become the seventh branch of the London Overground network.
That’s why I’m launching the Central Line Improvement Survey to hear directly from you. With your views, I will fight both the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Transport for London Commissioner, Andy Lord, to finally take action to improve our Central Line.
